Good art raises questions; good artist’s statements give just enough context to clarify them. It’s not hard to create a great statement - you just have to know what and what not to do.

It’s not your bio. It’s not copied from someone else. It’s not about “explaining” the work, how you made it, or how long it took. An artist’s statement shows what’s in it for the viewer without explaining anything away. My job is to work with you to create an Artist’s Statement that provides just enough clear, honest, and simply stated context to widen your audience and deepen engagement with your work.
